Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By downloading or using Klera (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. What the App Does

Klera is a personal finance management app that helps you track expenses, income, IOUs, loans, and savings goals on your device. It is an informational and record-keeping tool — it does not provide financial, legal, investment, or tax advice. Calculations (EMI, SIP projections, loan comparisons) are illustrative estimates based on the inputs you provide; they are not guarantees of actual returns or costs.

3. License

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Distribute, sublicense, or resell the App
Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to bypass the App’s security measures

4. Your Data

All data you enter is stored on your device only. We do not access, view, or store your financial data on our servers. You are responsible for maintaining your device’s security.

Backups: It is your responsibility to export and back up your data. Use Settings → Privacy → Export My Data regularly. We are not liable for data loss due to device failure, factory reset, or App deletion.

5. No Financial Advice

The App’s calculators, projections, and reports are for informational purposes only. Nothing in the App constitutes:

Investment advice
Tax advice
Legal advice
A recommendation to buy or sell any financial product

Always consult a qualified financial advisor before making financial decisions.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
Calculations will be accurate for your specific financial situation
The App will be compatible with all devices or OS versions

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for:

Loss of data
Financial loss or decisions based on App calculations
Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Ad-free Subscription

The App offers one optional auto-renewing subscription, “Ad-free” (currently ₹30/month or ₹300/year). It removes advertising from the App and nothing else — every feature of the App remains available in the free App.

Billing. The subscription is purchased through, and billed by, the app store (Google Play; the App Store when the iOS app is available) under that store’s terms. Renewal, cancellation, and refunds are handled by the store, not by us. You can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in your store account.
Pricing. The price is shown in the store at the time of purchase. Prices may vary by region and may change with notice; a change takes effect only on a subsequent renewal.
No Klera account. The App has no accounts, so the purchase is tied to your store account, not to us. If you reinstall the App or change devices, use “Restore purchase” in the App to re-apply it.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Mumbai, India.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
